Prayer for 2004 graduates
June 06, 2004 | Comments: 0Let us lift up our hearts and minds to God together….
Great and gracious Heavenly Father,
We come together here today to You Lord, through Your Son, by Your appointment to remember, to rejoice, and to renew our trust in You as we celebrate Your Faithfulness in the lives of Anya, Brandon and Ryan.
- We thank you, the Shepherd and Overseer of our souls, as we remember and recall to mind your past care for them, preserving and protecting them, guiding and directing them, and bringing them to this day.
- We rejoice in you Today, dear Father, as we Celebrate and congratulate them for their hard work and perseverance by which You have brought them to this milestone in their life’s journey.
- And Lord, what a blessed joy it is, that we can in confident hope look ahead with joyful expectation as they are entering into manhood and womanhood, to see your plans and purposes unfold in the their lives.
For We know the thoughts that you think toward Brandon and Ryan and Anya, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give them a future and a hope.
And so Lord, we pray for them:
- that you would keep lies and deception far from them
- that as they now embark on the next stage of their pilgrimage, they would put no confidence in the flesh, or in the strength of man, or in the wisdom of this world.
- that they would put no reliance in the vain hope of this world which will become dust in the wind, but rather cling to the firm and solid hope in You the Living God who rules over all the affairs of men, and Who is coming to judge the Earth.
- That they would trust in You will all their hearts, and lean not on their own understanding
- That they would acknowledge You in all their ways, as you continue to direct their steps.
- That they will hear hear Your voice, Good Shepherd, as You lead them in the Truth.
We pray for Ryan and Anya and Brandon:
- That they would continue to grow in grace and in the knowledge of You, Lord
- That they would use the gifts that you have given and developed in them, walking in the good works that You have prepared for them from the foundation of the world.
- That in whatever vocations you direct them, they would do their work heartily as to You, and not to men, knowing that from You they will receive the reward
- That You would continue to strengthen them in faith, and in hope, in a hostile world, and increase in them the vision of serving God in their generation, and in raising up their children in Faithfulness and Truth, so that one generation shall praise your works to another.
And so now as one chapter closes, and another opens we commit their souls to You, the Author and Finisher of their faith, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
